Alaska Curlers Win Hearts
While they did not win Ulus in the Arctic Winter Games Curling competition, Team Alaska's Curlers won the hearts of the local Canadian Curling Officials and afficionados.

Home Away From Home - Accomodations in Grande PrairieAs is typically the case at Arctic Winter Games, the athletes from Team Alaska and other contingents are staying at local schools, who like Alaska schools, are on spring break this week. Local organizers planned to put all the athletes up on cots; however, when they tried to secure cots, they found that every rental cot in Canada had been sent to Vancouver for the recent Olympic Games. Alaskan Gymnasts Soar at Grande Prairie Gymnastics CentreTeam Alaska's Gymnasts won an unexpected Gold Ulu in the Team competition Tuesday edging out Team Yukon at the beautiful new Grande Prairie Gymnastics Centre. This is was the best that Alaskan Gymnasts have ever done at Arctic Witner Games.
Team Alaska continued to perform well Thursday in Indivual Competition including taking the Silver, Bronze and forth Place in the Vault. Caila McCoy of vaulted her way to the Silver Ulu. Celina Brown of Anchorage earned the Bronze. Kaylee Stickel finished in forth place and Alexandria Biden finished in seventh. See photos below. For Compete Event Results (for all Sports) Click here
