While they did not win Ulus in the Arctic Winter Games Curling competition, Team Alaska's Curlers won the hearts of the local Canadian Curling Officials and afficionados.

Only hockey is more synomous with Canadanian sports than curling.  Not suprisingly, the Canadian teams dominated the curling competition at Arctic Winter Games, but the Alaskans played well and earned points for trying hard.  Our Junior Women's Team were the darlings of the local Curling club, because they are so young.  Cora Farrell and Ariel Traxler are both 10 years old; Kayla Foster is 13 years old.  Kaitlin Fowler, 17, is the leader and role model of the young female Alaska Team all of whom are from Fairbanks.  Both the girls and boys teams finished a respectable fourth.
